Geoff Golden Basketball will host its 4th Annual Holiday Hoops Camp December 19-21 at Lakeshore Athletic Club -Flatiron in Broomfield, CO.  The Holiday Camp will run 1-4pm daily and is open to both boys and girls currently enrolled in 3rd – 8th grade.  Pre registration cost is $79 through December the 18th.  Walk-in registration at LAC the day of camp is $99.

This year’s camp will have an outstanding line-up of  high level instruction including several former NCAA players.  As always Geoff Golden’s Camps/Clinics place a primary emphasis on fundamental skill development, overall athlete development and increasing basketball IQ. Each camp day will be divided into 3 – hour long segments: 1. Skill/Athlete Development (ie. shooting, ballhandling, lateral quickness etc.) 2. Position Specific Development (ie. guard play, post play etc.) 3. Competitive “live” action game play (ie. 1 0n 1, 3 on 3, 5 on 5).  Our goal as a camp staff is to teach and inspire each athlete to work at becoming a complete player and become a student of the game.

Geoff was selected by POINT 3 after 6 months of interviewing hundreds of full-time coaches, trainers and basketball professional across the country. 11 individuals were chosen to represent the company and its ongoing commitment to evolution in basketball.

The POINT 3 Alpha Program was created to identify and support basketball trainers who are leaders in their field and community, teaching the game with a focus on fundamental skills development, and strength and conditioning techniques specific to basketball. Geoff Golden Basketball will be conducting a series of fall Playmaker Clinics at Lakeshore Athletic Club – Flatiron in Broomfield, Colorado.  The clinics will run 4 consecutive Sunday’s beginning November 20th and ending December 11th from 1-3pm.  Registration is open to both boys and girls currently enrolled in 3rd – 8th grade. Playmaker Clinics are group workouts designed to build fundamental skill, increase basketball specific knowledge (commonly referred to as basketball I.Q) and develop overall athleticism.  Each Sunday session will be a comprehensive workout with a different emphasis in each of the above categories.  For example, our first Sunday we will specialize in shooting off the dribble, concept of offense spacing and lateral quickness.  Each session will conclude with a controlled scrimmage to help players learn to transfer skills and concepts from drills to game conditions.

Our primary goal with the Playmaker sessions is to provide a competitive environment for young players to learn the game of basketball.  Our emphasis as coaches is to teach the game in a way that builds confidence and allows for transfer of learning to game situations.  We run a disciplined program that gives us the ability to maximize our time on the court and minimize distractions to ensure the most efficient learning and development environment.  In other words, we take our basketball very serious as we hope our students do!

Geoff Golden Basketball will be operating the 2011-12 Chaparral HS Gold Tryouts at Sierra Middle School in Parker, Colorado.  There are two scheduled sessions September 7th and September 14th both running from 7:30-9pm.

The tryouts will be operated in a workout format that will cover all basic skills in a competitive environment.  The idea is to give the athletes a great workout that allows them to improve as players while showcasing their abilities and competitive spirit in a way that involves a fair evaluation process for the coaches.

Session 1: September 7th is open to all competitive girls in the 7th & 8th grade.  Registration begins at 7:15pm and the work begins at 7:30 sharp!  The tryout will conclude at 9pm.  There will also be a parent meeting as tryouts begin at 7:30.

Session 2: September 14th is open to all competitive girls in the 5th & 6th grade. Registration begins at 7:15pm and the tryouts will begin at 7:30 and will conclude at 9pm.  There will be  a parent meeting as tryouts begin at 7:30.

“It’s that time again for the Chaparral Gold Crown basketball tryouts.

The Gold Crown league is a great opportunity for the girls to play at a higher level. Tryouts for the 5^th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams will be Wednesday evening, September 7th, at Sierra Middle School. If you are interested in playing, please plan to attend. Twice-a-week practices for the Gold Crown season will begin the week of November, with the league games beginning in January. There are tournaments in November and December as well. The league will run through the end of February, and then there is a two week post-season tournament. Click here for more information about the Gold Crown league.

The 5th Annual Geoff Golden Basketball Summer All Skills Camp will be held June 20-23 at Lakeshore Athletic Club – Flatiron in Broomfield, Colorado.  The camp run will Monday – Thursday from 1:30 – 4:30pm and is open to both boys and girls age 6-14.  Cost of the camp is $99 per athlete ($79 Lakeshore members) with all registration conducted through the front desk at LAC.  REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday June 17th.

All Skills Camp is a comprehensive fundamental skill development opportunity for all levels and abilities.  Participants will be placed appropriately based on age and experience level to ensure maximum developement and a positive experience.  Our staff which is comprised of coaching professionals and current or former players are committed to teaching the fundamentals of the game in a passionate, ethusiastic, disciplined manner that allows for enjoyment but maximizes the learning environment.  We want campers to walk away at the end of the week with a smile on thier face, an appreciation of hard work and a laundry list of things they learned to take with them for the remainder of the summer.  Make no mistake about it…Geoff Golden Basketball is not a babysitting service!! Geoff Golden Basketball will be conducting a private All Skills Camp July 6-9 for the Vista Ridge Community located in Erie, Colorado.  Camp will run 9-11:30am and will be open to both boys and girls age 7-13.  Registration is limited to Vista Ridge Community members only.

All Skills Camp instruction will focus on age appropriate fundamental skill developement with an emphasis on proper shooting mechanics, ballhandling, passing and footwork.  Campers will also have the opportunity to learn /improve game play techniques and basketball IQ through daily 3 on 3 competitive play.

Basketball Club Denver will hold its annual tryouts for the upcoming spring/summer competitive club season on March 13th at Lakeshore Athletic Club – Flatiron in Broomfield, CO.   BC Denver will be looking to fill rosters for 4 competitive teams that will compete on both the regional and national level.

The tryouts are open to competitive girls with a graduating class of 2012-2015 and will be broken down into two age groups.  The class of 2015 (current 8th graders) will workout from 2-4pm with registration beginning at 1:30.  The classes of 2014-2012 (current freshman-juniors) will go from 4-6:30pm. Registration will begin at 3:30.  All participants will be required to check-in at the registration desk near the front entrance before going to the basketball court.  All participants should also plan to being a basketball.

BC Denver has quickly become one of the most competitive AAU/Club programs in the Rocky Mountain region.  As we established in our first season our foundation and primary focus is in the development of our athletes.  We place a premium on individual skill development, athletic development and learning to play the game – basketball IQ.  We feel that development is driven by quality coaches, quality practice and quality competition.  We have 3 mandatory practices per week – 2 team practices/1 skill-athlete development practice.  A 4th optional shooting practice is available to all athletes in the program on Friday nights.  At BC Denver we believe hard work is the price of admission to being a great player and we stive to give our athletes that opportunity.
